I initially got this for cross stitch projects to try to help with hand cramping. I got the one with the floor stand vs the clamp.I am very pleased with this purchase! It’s sturdy overall, but not at the expense of being heavy or difficult to adjust. The different joints tighten well and stay in place (something that can’t always be said for many similar products) and allow for a variety of adjustments. I like that the arm stretches fairly far and I can always find a comfortable position for it when I’m in my lounge chair. It’s also pretty easy to put out of the way - even if I don’t take it apart/fold it up it’s easy to put it over in the corner out of the way because of its lightness and lack of bulk.The only part that isn’t necessarily as sturdy as I’d like is the stand part, but it’s not a big deal because I usually have it pulled up against the edge or side of my seat or footrest. The design also makes it easy to just set a heavy item on the base to steady it.It does work well for what I initially purchased it for, but I have been using it more often for holding my patterns and reference sheets, including those for different crafts as well. I’ve also been using it for video calls on my phone (appreciate the phone clip!). It could certainly be used for many other purposes as well, so I feel I got my money’s worth!
