Product Description

Every two years since 2002, Marillion and their most dedicated fans gather together for a very special weekend in the UK, the Netherlands, and Canada. On three nights, Marillion perform three different shows with different set lists, consisting of full records played from start to finish, fan favorites and rarities. Fans travel from all over the world to be part of these truly amazing nights.Between March 8 to March 10, 2013 Marillion and their fans gathered in Port Zelande, Netherlands. On March 10, Marillion (for the first time) performed their most recent and widely acclaimed studio album, 'Sounds That Can't Be Made' in its entirety. What a performance it was: the venue, the 2,500 strong audience and the songs were what made the night unique.Besides the eight album tracks, the band also performed a selection of fan favorites ranging from 'This Strange Engine' to 'Garden Party', the most successful single from the band's debut album from the Fish-era. Rarely or hardly ever performed by front man Steve Hogarth, the song definitely is one of the evening's highlights.

I have written reviews about Marillion before and as I have said they are my favorite band. This live album is from Marillion's, 2013 Marillion Weekend event in Port Zelande The Netherlands. I have dozens of Marillion live concerts and this is my favorite. It has my all-time favorite versions of "Gaza", "Waiting to Happen", "This Strange Engine" and "Neverland". In my opinion, those four songs alone contain more quality than most bands make in a lifetime but I am unabashedly praising them now. This material is also available in a video format which is even better. The video format includes a Montreal concert of almost the exact same setlist but I think the Port Zelande version is the superior concert. I really love this concert and have several copies of it so I have it wherever I am. Great value too.
