Yes this is a book on poems and some lyrics. But there are also some really short poem or lyric style stories you don’t expect popping up. There is no safety net within this book, it can lift you up and drop you back down when you least expect it. Emotions go all over the place here. It keeps you reading. Words put together that you’ve never thought of combining before, and thoughts that make you think “is that, possible?” or “why hasn’t anyone said that before?”. A book to make you think and imagine where in time and world the author was, and place yourself there seeing what he sees, hearing what he hears, feeling what he feels. Beautifully written, nothing too long or too short. The audio soundtrack to it lines up well with what’s written and can be played through a couple times while reading the book. Stay track to chapter (repeat a time or three for some chapters) or just let it roll and don’t lose your place. Depends on how fast of a reader you are. But take your time, get lost and don’t come back until you found what you were looking for. It’s in there. There’s something in this book that I think everyone will say “that’s me” or “that’s exactly what I feel”, which is what Robert is good at. Down to earth moods and the words and stories never stop flowing. Pick one up for a friend too, because you’ll find that you know someone who needs to read this as well, and that person is also somewhere in this book. It’s something Robert has a gift for, reaching people with words where they least expect to be found, and when you do find that, it envelops you and it doesn’t let you go.
