Charming vintage illustrations for the classic Christmas poem! This is a Merrigold Press version of this book. When I ordered this book it was listed simply as NEW by the third party seller. However it actually appears to be new "old stock". The outer cover is mint, but the inner cover shows a brownish impression of the inner pages indicating long storage and the stapled inner pages are pulling away from the spine (which I can reinforce with book glue). All in all, these things are not deal-breakers to me, but a more forthright description would've been appreciated. I am happy to have this book. (I also have a 1980 Golden Press version, which my 2 children grew up with from the 80s through the 90s. But now they both have toddlers and I wanted each of them to have a copy to read to their kids.) As a side note: The Merrigold Press version differs from the 1980 Golden Press version in that the number and arrangement of illustrated text pages are different---the Merrigold Press has 23 pages and the Golden Press has 19. Also the pages of the Merrigold Press version are stapled while the Golden Press version are sewn. The text remains identical in both.
